An All America City We Are

We are Corpus Christi that you've heard so much about.
Sun and sand and surf are what we get when we go out.
We are Corpus Christi so come and join with me.
All-America City is what we're gonna be!!

We became this on June 14, 2003! With excitement and pride we were soon chanting our cheer with a new twist - All-America City, sparkling by the sea!

LCCA had the honor of being part of the delegation of over 50 people representing the City of Corpus Christi who traveled to Washington, DC presenting to the National Civic League what has been done in Corpus Christi’s recent history to deserve the honor of an All-America City. The presentation included 3 areas where our city has had outstanding performance: 1) our air quality 2) economic development and 3) our juvenile assessment center.

As the delegation entered the auditorium for the presentation the excitement was high and the enthusiasm was contagious. The presentation was followed by a 10-minute question and answer session. Experts from each area answered the difficult questions intelligently and precisely. The whole performance was so polished and presented with professionalism and class. It was a moment to take pride in our city's leadership and witness everyone's love for our city.

As we exited the stage, tears of pride and giant goose bumps came over me. It was a truly and awe-inspiring moment and the thrill of a lifetime. We knew from the moment the announcement was made at the awards ceremony that only great things are on the horizon for Corpus Christi.
Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association was proud to be a part of this event and was very well represented. We would like to extend a special “Thank You” for a job well done to the 16 LCC Alumni who represented our great city in Washington, DC.
